LAINEY GREER, PH.D.

Dr. Lainey Greer

Lainey is the founder of Your Body Matters and creator of Understand Healthy and The Bible and Your Body. She is passionate about Christian theology and body stewardship and strives to give believers the tools they need to glorify God in their bodies. By providing an understanding of a theology of the body and wellness basics, Lainey equips Christians with a biblical foundation for the body and the tools to apply it to daily life.

Her educational background includes a bachelor’s in exercise science from UT, a master’s in Christian leadership from DTS, and a Ph.D. in systematic theology from SBTS, in addition to 10 years of working in the church and 20 years of personal training. She is most passionate about a theology of the body and is the author of Struggling with Body Image: Seeing what God Sees,  Be Well: Learning to Steward Your Health, and forthcoming works in 2025Embodied Holiness: A Biblical Call for Bodily CareA Teen’s Guide to Eating Disorders: Hope for Your Struggle, and writes the Forsaken Body blog. While she speaks at various events on topics such as a theology, gender, body image, and burnout, she’s also developed Embodied Care Workshops that provide a framework for ministry workers to foster both body and soul health for those in their care.

KYLE CLAUNCH, PH.D.

Dr. Kyle Claunch

Dr. Kyle Claunch is Associate Professor of Christian Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he has served since 2017. Dr. Claunch is a churchman at heart. He has more than twenty years of experience serving in vocational pastoral ministry in the local church. He is currently an Elder at Kenwood Baptist Church, where he regularly teaches Sunday School and serves as instructor for the newly formed Kenwood Institute.  He is the author of numerous scholarly essays for such journals as the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS), the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology (SBJT), Criswell Theological Review (CTR), and Eikon: A Journal for Biblical Anthropology. He is also a contributing writer for “Christ Over All” and “Desiring God.” He and his wife, Ashley, live in Louisville, KY, with their six children. 

KELLY KAPIC, PH.D.

Dr. Kelly Kapic

Kelly M. Kapic (PhD, King’s College, University of London) is a professor of theological studies at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where he has taught since 2001. He is an author or editor of more than fifteen books, including You’re Only Human and Embodied Hope, which each won a Christianity Today Book of the Year Award. An active speaker and collaborator, Kapic has also worked on research teams funded by the John Templeton Foundation and has written for various academic journals and popular magazines, including serving on the Board of editorial consultants for the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. 

Julie Lowe

JULIE LOWE

Julie Lowe is an author, speaker and counselor. She holds an MA in counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary, is a licensed professional counselor with over twenty-six years of counseling experience, and is a registered play therapist supervisor. Julie serves as the Director of Next Gen Counseling at the Summit Church in Raleigh, North Carolina and is an adjunct faculty at Southeaster theological Seminary. She has taught as other high learning programs such as years and has lectured and taught at Missio Seminary and Westminster Theological Seminary. 

Julie has extensive experience teaching, speaking, and consulting with churches, schools, and other organizations around the country. She regularly teaches on topics such as marriage, women’s issues, sexual abuse, body image issues, parenting, adoption, and child maltreatment issues. She is trained in leading mandated reporter trainings and provides numerous trainings on child sexual abuse. Julie has a registered therapy dog that she works with both professionally and on a volunteer basis

Julie has authored several books: Childproof: Parenting By Faith Not Formula, Safeguards: Shielding Our Homes and Equipping Our Kids, Building Bridges: Biblical Counseling Activities for Children and Teens, Helping Your Anxious Child: What to Do When Your Worries are Big, Teens and Suicide: Recognizing the Signs and Sharing the Hope, Helping Your Child With a Bully: Learning to Respond Wisely and A Student Guide to Body Image, and Safety for Kids, Equipping Children to Discern Danger.

Her work and resources has been widely promoted by organizations like Focus on the Family, The Evangelical Counsel for Abuse Prevention and Paul Tripp’s Connecting Podcast.

Trisha Adams

TRISHA ADAMS

Trisha Adams is an Advanced Certified Biblical Counselor and certified instructor through the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC), and serves as the Creative Director at Connection Point. She holds two degrees in music (Bachelor of Music Education and a Master’s in Percussion Performance), and a Master’s in Christian Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. With experience spanning public education, corporate settings, and nearly two decades in ministry in the U.S. and abroad, Trisha brings a thoughtful and compassionate perspective to the various facets of suffering and counseling. She has a deep heart for women of all ages and backgrounds, particularly in helping them understand how lived experiences shape emotions, behaviors, and relationships—and how these bringing these realities honestly before God can truly reshape and remake us from the inside out. 

Dr. Kevin Carson

DR. KEVIN CARSON

Dr. Kevin Carson serves as Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. His passion for Christ-centered, Scripture-sufficient biblical counseling has been shaped by more than thirty years of pastoral ministry, teaching, and counseling, with a deep commitment to strengthening biblical counseling in and through the local church. He is one of the original Council Board members of the BCC.

Kevin serves as pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri, a role he has held since church planting in 2002. He has taught biblical counseling in undergraduate and graduate settings since 1999 and served as Professor and Department Chair of Biblical Counseling at Mission University. He continues to serve as adjunct faculty with several institutions.

Kevin earned his Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Graduate School and his Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary, with doctoral training under CCEF faculty. He is a certified biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and travels widely as a teacher and trainer. He is also certified with and serves on the board of the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC).

Kevin is an author and writes regularly at kevincarson.com. He speaks frequently at conferences and seminars. He and his wife, Kelly, have four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons.

DAN CHUNG

Dan Chung

Dan was part of the founding team of Crossing Borders in 2003 and became Executive Director in 2012. Dan helped to develop Crossing Borders into the non-profit it is today, making it capable of providing the funding and manpower to execute work in China. 
 
In addition to having been on the field with North Korean refugees personally, Dan is one of the foremost experts on the North Korean refugee crisis, with relationships with both organizations and scholars researching the ongoing developments of the Korean Peninsula. He wrote the book, A Hard Freedom: The Dreams and Trauma of North Korean Refugees, which was published in 2026 by Bloomsbury. 
 
Dan leads the oversight and planning of missions projects from the States, facilitating fundraising and organizing staff to work in China with North Korean refugees and to spread awareness on the ongoing refugee crisis. Dan is a husband, father, a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and an avid guitarist. 

DAVID CLOSSON, PH.D

Dr. David Closson

David Closson, Ph.D., serves as the Director of the Center for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council, where he researches, writes, and speaks about life, human sexuality, religious liberty, and related issues from a biblical worldview. He is the author of FRC's Biblical Worldview Series, which seeks to help Christians and Christian leaders apply the teachings of the Bible to difficult moral questions. 

Dr. Closson's work has appeared at Fox NewsReal Clear PoliticsNational ReviewThe Council for Biblical Manhood and WomanhoodDecision MagazineWORLD OpinionsThe Gospel CoalitionTownhall, and Christian Post. He is the author of Life After Roe: Equipping Christians in the Fight for Life Today (B&H Academic, 2025), co-author of Male and Female He Created Them: A Study on Identity, Sexuality, and Marriage (Christian Focus, 2023), and co-author of the forthcoming book Worldview Basics: A Worldview Curriculum for Students

Dr. Closson is a regular guest on Christian and conservative media outlets, including Washington Watch, FRC's national television and radio program heard on more than 800 stations across 48 states. He also speaks at conferences, seminars, and churches across the United States and abroad, addressing moral and cultural issues from a biblical worldview. 

Previously, Dr. Closson served at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as a teaching and administrative assistant in the School of Theology. He has also served as a Program Leader for Covenant Journey, leading trips to Israel designed to strengthen Christian college students in their faith through an experiential journey of biblical and modern Israel. 

Dr. Closson has served on staff or as an ordained deacon at churches in Florida and Kentucky. While in seminary, he interned for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Since 2024, Dr. Closson has served as a Fellow for Human Dignity and Public Policy at the Land Center for Cultural Engagement at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

David is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ph.D.), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.) and the University of Central Florida (B.A.). He lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife, Abby. 

PAMELA CUBAS, PH.D

Dr. Pamela Cubas

Pamela is originally from Kansas City, MO, and currently resides in Georgia. She has been married to Steve for 26 years, and they have three children: Victoria (23), Nicolas (22), and Madison (20). They also have the added blessing of their son-in-law, Wyatt. Pamela has a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling and Practical Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. She is a professor at Lancaster Bible College, overseeing their practicum program within their MA in Christian Care. Pamela previously taught in Colorado Christian University's MA in Professional Counseling program and served as an OTA at Boyce College's Biblical Counseling program. 

Pamela has experience counseling adults and adolescents who have faced sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, and same-sex attraction. She also has experience in marriage and family counseling. 

Pamela has counseled in a variety of settings: under licensure in Oklahoma City at an inpatient children’s center, in which she helped teens who were sexually abused, who sexually abused others, and their co-occurring struggles, such as suicidal ideations and attempts, depression, anxiety, and other issues concerning their conduct and attachments. She also worked in outpatient settings with teens and their families. Pamela has provided pro bono and low-cost biblical counseling to churches in South Korea, Oklahoma, and Colorado Springs. She has been a guest speaker at The Christian & Missionary Alliance Youth Next conferences, teaching how to counsel youth, particularly teens and families dealing with sexual and gender struggles. Pamela enjoys painting, walking trails, pickleball, and cornhole. 

SHAUNA VAN DYKE

Shauna Van Dyke

Shauna Van Dyke is the Executive Director for The Association of Biblical Counselors and co-host on the podcast Speak the Truth. Shauna founded Truth Renewed, a ministry that helps the church develop a culture of biblical care and provides free biblical counseling to the community. She is also a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, general editor for the Counsel through Scripture books, and graduate from Southern Seminary with a Masters in Christian Leadership. Shauna and her husband Michael have two sons, Jaxson and Dustin, and a daughter-in-love Brea who has recently blessed the family with their first grandbaby Naomi.

BRAD HAMBRICK, D.ED.

Dr. Brad Hambrick

Brad serves as the Pastor of Counseling at The Summit Church in  Durham, NC. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a council member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, has authored several books, including Angry with God: An Honest Journey through Suffering and Betrayaland served as general editor for the Becoming a Church that Cares Well for the Abused (churchcares.com) project. 

GINNY JACOBSON

Ginny Jacobson

Ginny Jacobson (MACC, MAC, MATS Reformed Theological Seminary) serves as a contracted counselor for Courage Christian Counseling. She has worked in a variety of ministry roles over the last 20 years, with a special focus on helping survivors of trauma and intimate partner abuse, caregivers, missionaries, and ministry workers. Ginny is a mom of four boys and care taker for her elderly dad who lives with them in Celebration, FL. She loves drawing, playing guitar, and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams.

John Kim

JOHN KIM

John Kim is a church planter and pastor at Solus Presbyterian Church (PCA) and a counselor at Solus Counseling Foundation. He loves to bring a pastoral and counseling perspective to his work in church planting and congregational care. He and his wife, Lynn, have three children: Owen, Soli, and Joni. 

BRYAN LAUNER

Bryan Launer

Bryan serves as the Executive Director of Hope Counseling Services, where he provides counseling, supervises the counseling team, and helps guide the ministry’s vision and direction. Before joining Hope in 2019, Bryan served in pastoral ministry, where he developed a deep love for walking with people through seasons of suffering, growth, and change. 

He’s passionate about helping people encounter the living Christ in the realities of everyday life. He also loves equipping others, whether pastors, counselors, or faithful friends, to provide care for others as well. 

When he’s not meeting with people, you’ll probably find him in the gym, out on his bike, or exploring new restaurants around town with his wife, Emily. 

PETER MARTIN

Peter Martin

Peter Martin lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife, Hannah Rose, and their newborn son, James. He is a PhD student in Systematic Theology and Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also serves as a mentor and teaching assistant in biblical counseling. Peter serves as a pastor at Gracia y Verdad Baptist Church. He is committed to equipping the church for theologically rich, biblically faithful counseling, with a particular focus on the Spanish-speaking world.

LUCY ANN MOLL, DMIN

Dr. Lucy Ann Moll

Lucy is the founder of Biblical Care & Coaching and is an anxiety expert who has personally walked through panic, phobias, and depression. With a Doctorate in Biblical Counseling, certifications from ACBC and ABC, and over 20,000 hours of counseling clients worldwide, Lucy combines deep compassion with practical wisdom to guide you from fear to freedom. 

Along with her husband, Stephen, who brings decades of pastoral ministry and a calming shepherd’s heart, they have a heart for helping Christians find real peace and freedom from anxiety, fear, and emotional overwhelm.

KEVIN SANDERS

Kevin Sanders

Kevin holds an MTS in Practical Theology from Reformed Baptist Seminary, a BACM in Christian Ministry from Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and all three certificates from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. 

Kevin has 20 years of pastoral ministry experience in North Georgia and Boston, MA. Kevin previously served as Executive Director of the Boston Center for Biblical Counseling, and currently serves as Connection Point’s Director of Partnerships. His counseling work includes the unique struggles of pastoral ministry, depression, anxiety, pornography and sexual addiction, marital challenges, and the lasting effects of past wounds. He is especially passionate about equipping the local church to care for one another with the hope of Christ. 

Kevin is married to Lauren, and together they have seven children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, fishing, spending time with his family, and following Red Sox baseball. 

ANGELA SHELTON

Angela Shelton

Angela is the Founder and Executive Director of Connection Point Biblical Counseling and Training Center in Covington, Georgia. She is passionate about seeing the Spirit of God apply the Word of God to the struggles and suffering of others who bear the image of God. Angela graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Psychology and received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She is in the final stages of completing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling and Practical Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  

Angela is married to Brad, and their ten children and two grandchildren are their delight. Angela’s desire is to come alongside individuals and families to provide Gospel-centered care for the various struggles we face in a fallen world. She has a particular interest in helping adult survivors of sexual abuse by viewing their experiences from a biblical vantage point. Angela is also passionate about equipping other believers to speak the truth in love through the practice of biblical counseling. She is a certified trainer and supervisor with the Association of Biblical Counselors, and she continues to develop new courses for biblical counselors through Connection Point’s curriculum. 

KATHRYN WEBER

Kathryn Weber

Kathryn Weber is a biblical counselor with Fieldstone Counseling and a certified adult sleep coach. Before counseling, she served as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. She holds an M.A. in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary, as well as degrees in Electrical Engineering and Cybersecurity. Kathryn is passionate about walking with others in the trenches of life to offer them the comfort with which she’s been comforted. She delights in seeing the gospel bring freedom to people in difficult and seemingly hopeless circumstances, especially when it comes to sleep issues such as sleep anxiety and insomnia. She lives in Virginia and enjoys reading, woodworking, and traveling.

JORDAN WILLIAMS, PH.D.

Dr. Jordan Williams

Dr. Jordan Williams serves as director of Gateway Seminary’s Master of Biblical Counseling program and as assistant professor of biblical counseling. He earned his doctorate at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where his research focused on a biblical counseling approach to understanding and addressing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) through Scripture’s anthropology. Dr. Williams has also contributed writings to the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and he is certified with the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC).
