Speaker Bios

Dr. Kevin Carson serves as Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. His passion for Christ-centered, Scripture-sufficient biblical counseling has been shaped by more than thirty years of pastoral ministry, teaching, and counseling, with a deep commitment to strengthening biblical counseling in and through the local church. He is one of the original Council Board members of the BCC. 

Kevin serves as pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri, a role he has held since church planting in 2002. He has taught biblical counseling in undergraduate and graduate settings since 1999 and served as Professor and Department Chair of Biblical Counseling at Mission University. He continues to serve as adjunct faculty with several institutions. 

Kevin earned his Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Graduate School and his Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary, with doctoral training under CCEF faculty. He is a certified biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and travels widely as a teacher and trainer. 

He is also certified with and serves on the board of the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC). Kevin is an author and writes regularly at kevincarson.com. He speaks frequently at conferences and seminars. He and his wife, Kelly, have four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons.
